    FOREIGN ORGANISATIONS

As Singapore depends heavily on trade to drive its economy, it is constantly striving towards a liberalised global trading environment. But while it has given the World Trade Organisation (WTO) its full support, it also believes that bilateral free trade agreements (FTAs) can help quicken the pace of trade liberalisation.

It has thus signed FTAs with New Zealand, Japan, the European Free Trade Association, Australia, the US, India, Jordan, South Korea, Brunei, Chile, Panama and China. The following are key features of the various FTAs that have come into effect so far.
